DroneMed’s Emergency Medical Response System

From the dispatch call to the bystander's hands — we've built the complete system.

DroneMed is building the world’s fastest, scalable Emergency Medical Response System — integrating drone technology directly into emergency healthcare dispatch to deliver an automated external defibrillator (AED) to an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patient within three minutes of the call. Developed in the UK and designed for global deployment across emergency services and first responder organisations worldwide.

“Every minute without defibrillation reduces survival by 10%. We've built the system that closes that gap.”

Built in the UK. Designed for the world.

DroneMed is a UK-based systems integrator, but the problem we are solving — cardiac arrest survival — does not respect borders. Across 35+ countries, more than five million people die from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) every year. The gap between the emergency services call and the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) reaching the patient is a global problem. DroneMed’s Emergency Medical Response System is engineered to operate within any emergency dispatch architecture, in any geography, within the frameworks of local civil aviation regulations.

ABOUT US

DroneMed was built by people who have spent their careers at the sharp end of emergency response — as HEMS pilots, flight operations directors, regulatory specialists, and clinical and business leads. We are not a drone company that discovered healthcare. We are a healthcare team that identified the right technology and built the system around it.

Our Emergency Medical Response System integrates emergency healthcare dispatch, defence-grade, superior drone operations, HEMS-grade routing, and bystander response into a single, governed, deployable architecture. Developed in the UK and built from day one to deploy globally — across emergency services and first responder organisations worldwide.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some common questions about how DroneMed™ supports the integration of drone technology into emergency response services. For more details, feel free to contact us.

DroneMed is developing an Emergency Medical Response System (EMRS) — a unified operating architecture that integrates emergency services dispatch, BVLOS drone operations,  HEMS-grade routing software, and bystander response pathways into a single governed system. Our primary use case is Project 3:Scene- the automatic delivery of an AED to a suspected out-of-hospital cardiac arrest within three minutes of an emergency call.

DroneMed's UK-made operational platform is expertly selected for its high airspeed, strong wind tolerance, and all-weather capability. The drone is equipped with ADS-B, dual GPS, command and control redundancy, a parachute system, 360° navigation lighting, forward and downward-facing cameras, and a winch system capable of lowering an AED to bystander level.  Additional operational features can be added, to customer requirements.

The DroneMed EMRS integrates directly with emergency service Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and  community responder platforms. When an emergency call is classified as a suspected cardiac arrest, the system is notified automatically. There are no additional steps required for call handlers or dispatchers.

Built with best-in-class partners across aviation, software, and emergency response.
