Emergency Medical Response System

A unified operating system for emergency drone deployment.

DroneMed has designed and is building the EMRS — a fully integrated architecture that turns drone capability into deployable emergency healthcare infrastructure for emergency services and first responders worldwide. This is not a drone product. It is a new layer to augment within the emergency response system.

Project 3:Scene

AED delivery within three minutes of an emergency call.

Project 3:Scene is DroneMed’s primary operational use case: the automatic dispatch of an Automated External Defibrillator to the scene of a suspected out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, within three minutes of emergency call classification.

When a call handler identifies a suspected cardiac arrest, the DroneMed system is notified automatically via ambulance CAD integration. Within seconds, the navigational software generates a route, risk score, and the ETA. Drone availability is confirmed with payload readiness. If the mission is viable, the drone launches and navigates dynamically to the incident location. The AED is lowered by an in-house developed winch to bystander level. The bystander is guided by the dispatcher instruction.

The ambulance service retains clinical command throughout. DroneMed retains programme and clinical governance. Every element of the mission is logged for CAA compliance and performance reporting.

  • Dispatch-to-launch: under 30 seconds

  • Launch-to-scene: three minutes or less

  • System availability: 99% or above

  • Mission logging: 100% data completeness

The Drone

A military-grade UK-made drone, selected for super-fast airspeed, strong wind tolerance, and all-weather capability. Equipped with ADS-B, dual GPS, 360° navigation lighting, forward and downward cameras, and a specially developed winch delivery system for precise AED deployment to bystander level.

Dispatch software

Enterprise fleet management and mission orchestration, providing real-time telemetry, live health monitoring, dispatch integration, and full compliance logging. It is the operational brain of every DroneMed mission.

Dynamic routing

Geospatial intelligence and dynamic routing providing real-time deconfliction and detect and avoid intelligence. We are able to generate the safest, fastest route to scene in real time, accounting for terrain, weather, NOTAMs, and airspace conflicts including HEMS and police aircraft.

Integration

DroneMed integrates directly with the systems already used by the emergency services, so a drone dispatch is triggered automatically at the point if incident classification. It can also be integrated into community responder platforms to communicate with first responders and bystanders.

Our Partners

DroneMed is a systems integrator. We bring together best-in-class partners across aviation, software, operations, and clinical response — and govern them as a single, coherent EMRS. Our partner relationships are established and exclusive to the DroneMed system.

Aircraft Platform

Our drone platform partner manufactures an ultra-high-speed, all-weather unmanned aircraft purpose-built for the demands of emergency medical response. Selected after rigorous evaluation against operational requirements, it is the only platform that meets DroneMed's performance specifications for speed, wind tolerance, and precision payload delivery.

Fleet Management & Dispatch Software

Our software operations partner provides enterprise-grade fleet management, mission orchestration, live telemetry, and compliance logging — the operational brain of every DroneMed mission. Their platform is already integrated with our dynamic routing layer, creating a seamless end-to-end operational stack.

Dynamic Routing & Airspace Intelligence

Our routing partner provides real-time route planning, airspace deconfliction, and SORA automation — powered by a certifiable, patent-protected AI technology. Their Detect and Avoid capability meets RTCA compliance standards. UK-based and government-funded. Copy textWe support The Thunderbird Project, a UK charity to enable BVLOS in the UK.

Emergency Drone Services | Custom Solutions by DroneMed UK
Built from the inside out.

DroneMed’s team has over 90 years of combined experience across HEMS operations, National Police Aviation Service (NPAS), clinical cardiology, aviation regulation, and flight operations governance. We did not approach this problem from the outside and ask how to fit a drone into healthcare. We started from within emergency response and designed a system that works within the regulatory space simultaneously.

HEMS & NPAS Expertise

Our flight operations leadership has spent careers operating crewed emergency aircraft — understanding dispatch integration, safety case development, and the governance standards that emergency services and flight regulators expect.

Regulatory Positioning — UK and International

In the UK, DroneMed is pursuing both UK SORA and the non-military State Aircraft designation — which, for operations conducted on behalf of emergency services to save a life, has the potential to significantly accelerate the pathway to live deployment. Internationally, our regulatory strategy is built to adapt to national frameworks — including EASA in Europe, Transport Canada, and equivalent bodies across our target markets.

Healthcare-System-Aligned Clinical Governance

Every element of the DroneMed system has been designed around emergency healthcare clinical pathways. DroneMed holds programme and clinical governance for every deployment; the emergency service retains clinical command of every incident — whether that is an NHS ambulance trust in the UK or a national first responder authority internationally.

Commission the system. Transform the response.

DroneMed is in active development and engagement with emergency services, first responder organisations, health system commissioners, and investors in the UK and internationally. If you are a emergency services commissioner, operational leader, government health authority, investor, or potential partner — wherever you are in the world — we would welcome a conversation.
